Band practice can sometimes get in the way of this, but those are normally about 3 hours worth of intense playing so if anything it's keeping my hands fit...
I remember many many years ago reading that a young man named Jimmy Page used to practice 6-8 hours a day, every day ......
You're on the right track Chad ..... :applause:
I think if he only got as good as Jimmy Page, we'd have a very sad Chad. ?
Badapple, bear in mind that there's the amount of time spent, and the efficiency too. Someone like Chad undoubtedly practises long,
and efficiently. But beware of putting in unproductive hours. Have some kind of a plan of what you hope to achieve that session, and isolate the stuff you can't play well (i.e., if there's a part of a song you mess up, don't keep playing the whole song. Play the bit that you're messing up until it's right). Also, use a metronome. Also play stuff only as fast as you can play it
perfectly. Speed is easy if your fingers do stuff unconsciously. I learned this stuff late and have put in many wasted hours of unproductive practise. Don't do the same.
