I recently had to do a setup on a MIM Tele that is snapping the D string. The guitar had not been set up at the shop...... :-\ :-\
I stripped and cleaned the bridge and saddles to make sure there was no dirt and sharp edges etc, reassembled the bridge and set up the saddle heights and intonation.
I noticed that the G string did not ring much open and sounded particularly dead when fretted on the 12th fret...my suspicion is the saddle as the strings were not touching any frets.
The bridge is the vintage bridge with the 6 saddles like this...
So the Question..... ? ?
What is the general quality of the saddles on the MIM Tele and what would be a good upgrade..??
