Your arm aint long enough for my list, but I'll say this, Ritchie Blackmore would be where your arm starts.
TomCat
Steve Lukather
David Gilmour
(With Simon Philips drumming and Pino Paladino on Bass for both of them.. ? ?...)

Eric Clapton and Mark Knopfler for sure...
I would have given my left eye to have seen Fats Domino, Little Richard and Ray Charles (pianists) live at their prime

Well I've been fortunate enough to get multiple looks at the guy I most wanted to see, and a couple of others who were really fab.
But I wouldn't mind catching a taxi rather than an air plane to see Bruce Cockburn, Jerry Douglas, Tom Verlaine, Jerry Donohue and/or Darrell Scott. Those are guys I haven't seen and would very much like to. Doc Watson too. Eric Bibb. Mike Heron, Stephen Stills (solo).... shoot! There's loads. Tinariwen - hell yes! King Sunny Ade. Ry Cooder. David Lindley. David Lindley AND Ry Cooder.... I could go on an on.

Something I have heard from two of those players I really wanted to see - Martin Simpson and Richard Thompson: They're quite happy to go pretty much anywhere, especially if it's a territory that they haven't performed in before, but what they need is an invitation from a promoter.
So if you know or can contact a promoter type person then put you suggestions to them (not one of those "bring so-and-so to Cape Town on-line things). That also helps them see that there is some interest in a certain player here.
Tony Cox is bringing guitarists to our shores these days. I've already written to him to suggest that he invite Martin Simpson.

I would like to see Eric Clapton.
Mainly because I would like to see if he lets any local SA guitarists take a solo during Wonderful Tonight ?

Probly most of my blues guitar heroes have swopped their guitars for zimmer frames by now (those who are still alive)
We have seen Steven Stills, Eric Clapton and Snowy White and um sure Neil Young could still put in an appearance,
but the likes of Kenny Wayne Shepherd or Joe Bonamassa could see me breaking the piggy bank to buy a ticket. :yup:

Eddie van Halen, David Gilmour and Angus Young and it would be a massive bonus if they all bring their bands along...

Most of the players i would want to see have already shed this mortal coil . Like wes montgomery , jaco pastorious , charlie christian , However of those still with us i'd like to see martin taylor , paco de lucia and jim campilongo . Not many other new as in still living players who interest me enough to want to see live , other than them i'm happy to watch a dvd of everyone else
