Where can one attend group meets for those afflicted by gas?
It's not like alcohol where you have AA meetings. It is not a habit or addiction, it is a Syndrome. You know, like acquired immune deficiency Syndrome; disease.
It has been suggested by people known as conspiracy theorists that GAS was developed in the late sixties by an agency working in a part of the Nevada desert referred to as area 51, funded by the US goverment as a means to make the world buy only US products. When full scale tests in the early seventies showed that it yielded only in part of the cases purely US product preference, the project was apparently abandoned and a large shipment of test material found its way onto the black market. The Simon&Garfunkel song 'Kodachrome' supposedly tries to bring this into the spotlight, famously blending both US and Japanese brand names into the lyrics. The story is further that CBS bought a substantial quantity, trying to get the Strat back onto the market. Some even claim that Gibson took over most of the material when the Norlin vs. Elger battles were going on. Said viral test tubes were all used up over the years, but at the time no one thought the Syndrome would actually be transmittable. At present, it is not only believed to be able to transfer between humans but also to spread through visual imagery. Little is understood of the mechanism and hardly any funding is available for research.
