4 grand buys you an ibanex head + cab unit , buys a marshall haze 40 (if u add a hundred or 5), a Class 5 made in UK, and a number of other options , when viewed in that light , 4 grand has to be viewed as a lot of money.
. . . very true.
Stoner Riff, just in case you missed some of the other posts :?

Custom built , hand wired amps are always gonna be speciality items , and yes i bet you can buy a new cube 80 for that money But in my mind there will always be a market out there for the admittedly more pricey but custom build gear be it guitars ,? just ask Roy ? or amps . And if you select your amp builder well you will own an amp or guitar which is without doubt a cut above production models but you pay for it . And to those who are attracted to custom builds that extra is well worth it for a limited produced item thats hand made , the world is full of exclusive brands be it cars , watch's , jewelry guitars or amps for people who enjoy that exclusivity and for those that don't there's the mass production market . So 4 k for a hand wired amp built totally by hand is not a lot , so if you have an upset over price go buy a cube but no need to crit craig amps , do you slate the guitar builder who charges 40 k for a hand made build or the collector who pays R100 000 for some rare vintage guitar ? only last week i saw a 30's gibson acoustic with a 60k price tag and i'm sure some might hear the gibson and reckon their 5 k tak sounds almost as good ? and who would spend that money on that old guitar , well there is a market for exclusive items ?
Why must everyone always complain on this forum about the price?
If you cant afford it, well you know what to do...
Trying to be polite here.
Here I though I would put my 2ND HAND CUSTOM SWART ATOM, all 3-5w of it up for a steal at R8000...
Now you have a local CUSTOM amp builder selling a gem for that price?! A bargain in my opinion...
This is not made in china, if you want a chinese amp, go buy your Ibanez TS15, great little amp... Really!!!!
But dont comment on the price of a unique custom builders amps...
Any one keen to pay R25000 for my Swart AST?
R45 000 for the Matchless DC30?
R24 000 for the Two Rock Studio 35?
Lets talk expensive then..
I like Craigamps and I think they superbly priced for top quality amps...
Everyone should spend more money on amps and less on guitars! Thats where te magic lies, the secret of tone believe it or not lies in the hands then the amp!
