Lovepedal Les Lius..... Clone
Nicholas-L
So it was just another day at the office.... mmmm maybe not.... ?
Had some time to spare and so I had tome to finish it.
Time to go home and test it ? ? ? and if it works I'll see if I can wiggle a sound clip out of it.

Cool!
Thats a tiny circuit for OD + boost!
Nicholas-L
Yeah it is quite tiny, but from the youtube demo's it sounds awesome. Unfortunately I have used the wrong transistor so it's barely kicking out a sound. Off to the shops to get the right one and try again tomorrow ?
guitarboy2828
Sound clips or it never happened! ?
guitarboy2828
I just youtube'd this pedal, sounds amazing!! Could you perhaps post the schematic you worked off?
Nicholas-L
Hey Paul.
So far I'd have to say it didn't happen then :roflmao:
The transistor I used doesn't have enough oemf.
Here is the link to the schematic and vero layout

Cool thread.
I must admit, I almost feel a bit dof compared to all the smart guys here on the forum!
I recently played on a lovepedal eternity and really enjoy the sound of the pedal. But now I am wondering how the Les Lius compare to the eternity?
If they are very similar, maybe it will be a good project to take on?
How much did you spend on all the components?
Sorry if there are any questions that do not make that much sense or sound a bit dof ?
Nicholas-L
So far I think I might have spent about all in all R250, but then again I bought parts in multiples and the enclosure is a bit bigger than typical pedal size (and a bit more expensive). (Works for me though).
Tone wise I couldn't really compare the two just yet, but the Les Lius is suppose to emulate the fender tweed and twin type of break up with an option to combine the style of clipping/break up, where as the Eternity is a great overdrive/crunch and boost pedal.
I might just attempt to build an Eternity just to check the differences hehe ?

Great, thanks Nick! I am keen to try build this! Next time I go home, I will have to pull out the ol' soldering iron! ?

Always a pleasure to help. Just make sure the transistor is either the same or has a Hfe gain in the 800 and up region.
I'll hopefully have the correct ones tonight (2N5088) and see if the life in this cup cake will jump out and throttle my amp to point of sonic madness.
Nicholas-L
Another hint is to make sure the correct resistor is in the right place :-[
Lets hope it works tonight.
Nicholas-L
Ok right got it working folks and it does sound pretty sweet cranked. Now to figure out why the boost isn't really boosting.
Mine does make a bit of noise, but that could be because I'm using a kaka multi voltage power supplies.... Need to build a decent Power box. mmm Next project? :-\ or maybe a Timmy or an OCD or one of those Mad Prof pedals.... so many choices ?arty:
