Line 6 POD XT

Having recently acquired a Line6 POD XT

I tried it out with my Roland Cube 30X and the tones were bordering on nasty! I used the preset patches, as the manual seems quite a task, I haven't got around to making my own yet.

Should I switch off the Amp sims? I am playing through the clean channel, maybe the amp sims are clashing with the Cube, Should I just use the FX.

Tonight I will try the POD through my Yamaha Stagepas PA and see if there is a difference.

I did change the cables as well, and used the expensive ones that Fingerpicker put together.

Most probably a dumb ass question but I am a noob at electric guitar playing and I need to conquer this thing

Hey Sqonk, most Pods I've played with dont sound great through an amp. Try it straight through the PA, maybe it will be better. I use mine mainly for recording. Have fun.

Yes, turn both the amp and speaker sims off or leave them on and DI to the PA. Also you can try plug into the Cube's aux input (which bypasses the Cube's own modelling).
