Congrats Don! ?
Wouldn't the subwoofer defeat the purpose of having monitors? Are the monitors not supposed to give a true representation (or close approximation) of the sound sent to them? I'm confused on this mixing thing (And I'm assuming you wanted them for that?) but the point is that you mix on monitors that doesn't accentuate any frequencies in order to get an end-product that is likely to play back reasonably on most devices that may or may not accentuate other frequencies, and hence , a subwoofer will make your bass sound too strong and you will end up with weak sounding bass in your mix?
I think those are 5" monitors, so they won't reveal anything below a certain frequency, that's where the sub comes in. So not to accentuate the bass, but reveal it.
