Need Help with SR5

Hi guys I got my hands on a Ernie Ball Music Man Stingray5 on thursday.. Supe awesome bass plays like a dream..

Problam is the higher strings sound very softer.. When I play octave based lines you barely hear the notes on the D and G string.. The humbucker is set in a angle.. The humbucker is close to the low B and E but pretty far from the D & G string.. Is that how its supposed to be setup? Or should it be level like a guitars humbucker?

Is your mm active or passive?
The ones I've played on had active preamps and passive pickups, so first thing check the battery.
Does raising the pickups on the higher strings change anything?

If not...take something metal, like an allen key and touch each one of the pole pieces on the pickup to check if they are still magnetised, if one doesn't have a magnetic pull then it could be a dead coil in the pu.

The music man shouldn't be angled too too much since its a single pickup(some models)

Its also has an eq that takes time to dial in, I think its a 3 band and adjusting 1 knob has an effect onon the others....

All pups, bass and guitar, should be set to your liking - if that is level, then level it must be. If that is close, then close they go. Etc.

Its the single humbucker 3band eq, passive pups and onboard preamp.. Pups seem to be magnetised.. Ill raise the pup abit to see what changes

I raised the humbucker and it helped a little but its still not how its supposed to be..

Did you check the pole pieces and change the battery?

Battery was replaced on thursday and pole pieces seem fine.. Its sounding alot better now.. About 80% there.. With a lil added aggression while playing its 100%... I would just like to add what a beast this bass is!! Really loving it..

Worse case scenario, get it checked by a pro who can check the preamp and everything is working

Ummm... You have the pickup closer to E & B and the D & G are too quiet? Try raising the pickup on the treble side and lowering on the bass.

Also, the treble strings will get more lost in a mix if you're playing along with guitars.

Thats what i did ? and I adjusted the eq on my amp a lil now its al sorted
