So, I finally got around to recording my actual amp. :-[ It's just so much easier to use Guitar Rig for messing around with recording ideas that I've put this off for way too long.
The playing on this is a bit embarrassing, I was just noodling around tonight, no real melody, over a simple little chord progression I came up with. Still, you can sort of hear how spanky (read: bright ?) my new Strat is. My timing is rather awful, kindly pretend not to notice :-[ It's better when I know what I'm playing (I think).
If there's any advice anyone can give about making this sound better, maybe something I've overlooked (in terms of micing up, etc.) I'd appreciate it.
For interest's sake:
Amp + Cab: Vox Night Train & matched cab (12" Celestion Greenback)
Close mic: Shure SM-57
Far mic: Behringer C-1
All reverb and delay is pedal based! 8) The only processing I added for the tracks was a noise gate and some mild compression on the lead (in Reaper).
Neunaber Wet Reverb
TC Flashback - Analog setting (only on the "lead guitar")

Next project requires some serious distortion! Unfortunately I'll have to wait for the weekend to crank it.
