Looking for advice on studying music at SACM?

hi to all. I am considering studying music in CT at the south african college of music. i would like to focus on jazz guitar and composition. Had a look at their staff on the site and they only have one guitar lecturer, james grace. a classical player.

Well, if you want to study classical or jazz music in South Africa, then SACM is probably the best place to do it. They definitely have the best jazz department of any university in the country. James Grace is primarily a classical guitarist, but knows a lot about all types of music. The other lecturers for other instruments (Andrew Lilley, Mike Rossi, etc), are brilliant so I'm sure you can't go wrong. They have plenty of knowledge to give, it doesn't necessarily have to come from the guitar lecturer, who is in fact a great guitarist.

If you go to part-time lecturers on the site you can see that Alvin Dyers lectures jazz guitar.
