Local pedal kit supplier?

HI there

I have ordered two pedals from a UK outfit but he is seriously p()**ng me off with no response to my mails, delay in shipping and telling me sob stories about the courier company not tracking parcels after it leaves EUrope. (huh?)

I am considering canceling my order and would like to know if there are any DIY pedal kit suppliers in RSA? I am looking for a fuzz and perhaps a nice OD pedal?

Sounds like if he sent it, he sent it via post...

No-one locally that I know of (there's a small market there for someone with initiative...). I can recommend General Guitar Gadgets in the US and the Buildyourown clone kits from www.axeandyoushallreceive.com in canada.

After asking him a few questions, he decided to give me a full refund.?! So he obviously had not sent anything. This is nearly a month after receiving the money!

BTW this was diypedal kits in the UK...

When it come to receiving overseas parcels via the South African Post Office, patience is a virtue. The usual time for transmission of a parcel from UK, USA or Canada is about three weeks but I recently had a parcel that sat in my local Sunninghill post office for 3 weeks before the post office worker condescended to place a slip in my PO box. Unfortunately, most reasonably priced post office services don't have international tracking - this service costs extra. So hang in there. Work on your decals while waiting!
If you are looking for a really nice overdrive, I can thoroughly recommended BYOC's OD2, which is a tubescreemer clone with loads of options and a clean boost in the same box.

Thanks johnny B. This is all true, but I ordered the pedal kits via courier. This means NO post Office involvement.

I have many years experience with importing paragliders through the POst Office and it is a pain, you are right. But in this case, I paid more to get the stuff here fast, via courier!!

Just got a mail from him and he apologized. He refunded me and told me to keep the pedals if they ever get here...

Still wondering why you have to threaten people to get them to respond to you..... ???

Actually, the SA post office can be very efficient...if you know how to deal with them. ?

5 to 8 days, that's how long it takes for any parcel to arrive in Johannesburg/SA.
It's scanned in at the International incoming mail centre in Kempton Park, just behind Emperors Palace.
You can go there and pick it up yourself, it will be there 5 to 8 days after it was posted from anywhere overseas.

I ship with SA Post Office EMS to Europe and the USA, world class.
It takes 4 days for guitars to be delivered door to door in the USA...costs me R1500.00 with insurance.
Once again, I take the guitar there myself, to the International incoming mail, weigh it, pay, and 4 days later it's delivered.
