Numbers are my kryptonite, so I may have got this wrong, but yeah, when I did the purchase it did say that the price does not include VAT so I have budgeted for that, plus an additional 14% for the customs fees

I had previously checked out this site but wasn't sure if they were any good because I hadn't heard much from anyone else using them.

50 Euros seems quite cheap to ship to SA. How long did they say it would take?

My dream guitar is the same price I could get a second hand one off eBay, but it works out cheaper because of the shipping costs.

I would be very interested to see how it works out. ?

I ordered from them about 2 years ago but had the three guitars that I bought shipped to my brother in the UK then he sent them on here - absolutely no problems then. G-Man - they reckon 10-20 days. So what's the dream guitar???

I could have ordered the tele through local music shops, but then it was 6 weeks best case scenario... The nighthawk was basically impossible to get other than through MF or Thomann, and the prices for both the tele and the nighthawk new are about the prices I would have paid, maybe slightly higher, for mint condition on MF

Hey - I used PayPal this time, just easier than finding my credit card and entering all the details! But both are accepted, and I think EFT too

I've looked into PayPal before and it just seems like a bit of a hassle. EFT sounds interesting. If that can work I'll definitely look into this more.

Cant really remember the set-up process, but now that I am with Paypal its just easier to click a few times rather then enter all those details - I went through a phase of buying stuff off eBay almost daily, and Paypal saved me plenty time ?

Also, you can now receive funds through PayPal as well...very useful for me.
You do however need an FNB account, but you can now link any other bank account to your FNB account to receive funds/payments.

Regarding the 50 Euro shipping charge for a guitar.
For that price I'm imagining Thomann will use the very cheapest option of DHL/Deutsch post, not DHL, but rather German Post.
It's a risk that can pay off, but still a tad risky. ?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but EFT gives you no protection. With Paypal or credit card you can complain, reverse the charge etc. Prolly not a big deal with reputable companies but anyway.

However I want the SLX soloist in White, which they don't have (Thomann) =( They've only got the SLSXMG with the EMGs in white, but I don't like active's much =(
I might have to settle for it if they can't get the model I want.

I'm waiting to hear from them regarding that, I've also asked about their R500 shipping regarding ETA, insurance policy and such. I will share the info when they get back to me.

If I buy a flight case to ship the guitar in (It weigh's 7.5KGs =/), will it raise shipping costs?
