OK. This thread is on the edge of certain areas that are no-go areas on GFSA. I'm not saying that those debates aren't interesting, and I might even wade in myself - but in other places. Not here.

Y'all know the rules (you were directed to them when you joined up). When you sit down at this table there are certain discussions that we don't have.

I've done some tidying up, but for the time being the thread stands.

I've been doing some research. The information given through the video is (mostly) correct, however they do not give the full story. They simply provide the core ideas and don't explain anything furthermore. For example - Kony isn't even active in Uganda anymore, a lot of the footage are from as early as 2003.

There are actually people in Uganda posting YouTube videos saying that it's a bunch of twak and that there is now peace. So whether or not all of this is true or fake, where are the donations going? This campaign is making millions of $'s.

Just something to think about, make sure you do your homework before donating. It may look pretty on the outside.. but don't judge a book by...

true about the LRA not being active in Uganda anymore, but Africa is bigger than Uganda...and if my child were kidnapped and the person responsible was still at large I would say it is NOT peaceful.

I don't see the topic here as definitely contravening forum rules. Individual posts could send it into areas that we don't like her on GFSA. It's up to all of us.

All I have to say is: if you get an emotion-laden email forwarded from your tannie, it's usually best to spend a few minutes on google to verify how truthful it is. Whether it is about how bad drinking water from a plastic bottle is, mythical man eating spiders, new hijacking techniques, or the situation in Uganda. ?
