I've been using a Snark clip on tuner which I picked up for 100 bucks ZA and it works well. But I've been looking to buy something a little less obtrusive and this looks good. Also been looking at the Planet waves headstock tuner offerings.

That would be pretty cool for my acoustics. Mind if I ask the price? Then again we don't have a music connection in CT.

I believe the adjustable frequency is there so you can tune the guitar to a slightly out of tune piano for example. as long as both instruments are in tune with each other, few people will notice...

I bought one similar to those today from Bothners N1 - priced at R119! It is a Cort E610C Chromatic tuner. Bargain!

I like the fact that it changes from amber to green when in tune. Not even read the manual to see what all it can do yet - it has three buttons that I have not figured out yet. I think one switches between mic and picking up vibrations through the clip. Took it out of the box, tuned my electric and then took it to band practice tonight. Tuned while everyone else was tuning (I was worried that it might pick up all the noise in the room).

I've got a planet waves (3rd one in on that picture) and it's OK but the battery cover keeps on falling off. Usually the battery follows not long after.

That's not the same one I'm talking about. The one I've got has ONE button.

Good stuff Bob, will be getting one of these. The Generic one I bought isn't trustworthy for gigging.

Thanks... I always have my trusty pb with me but not always in the chain (which for me is bass to amp right now ? ) this is a handy quick tune option if you can't hear your harmonics.
