if, so, where to get them locally if possible but ordering from uk or usa is not a problem for me. the maxconnect bridge is a problem though, will take about four months to get im told from a rep from tuerkmusic.

Maybe... You'll have to measure your stud spacing to confirm and quite importantly, make sure that you get wraparound studs with the same thread: The Asian guitars usually have a Metric M8 thread, while bridges made for US guitars (like the Schallers) are the Imperial 5/16-24

They give you more leeway in the stud spacing. They also come with anchors, so if you have to, you can always plug and redrill for the new anchors.

And you might as well get from Stewmac if you have to get the studs too.

eish, i have been serching and contemplating ideas for awhile now, the stud spacing on those options are 8,2 cm and the stud spacing on my guitar is 7,45 or so, quite bummed. the reason i wanted to get one of these is because i am really used to the comfort of a 'lp style' bridge and stoptail for resting my palm for muting on demand. my string through really feels uncomfortable and is really hindering my technique, no amount of pratice and adjustment has helped this. even considering selling my beaut because. any suggestions? i mean, im starting to consider a tailpiece but i also see that it wont fit unless i go the route of making my own.

The ESP has a TOM bridge already. So I guess what you're really missing is the stop tailpiece. The wraparounds don't feel quite the same and they have the same spacing as a stop tailpiece. You could have a STP fitted (although note that if the bridge is recessed, you'd have the recess the STP too as you can't change the neck angle). The STP would cover most (if not all) of the evidence of modding from the front of the guitar (You'd still have the inserts in the back of the guitar).

GH is right though - an irreversible mod will usually hurt the resale value. Of course, if as far as you are concerned, a guitar suits you in every way aside from one thing, modding that thing can turn it into your perfect guitar.

Im going try a little diy idea i have, i got the idea from a neat tailpiece on ol stewy mac. I think it was called a benadetto tailpiece. But i plan on essentially making a block of wood to fit next to my bridge, i think i will try drill holes in the same angle as the strings that come out of the body and onto the bridge. That will hold the piece down. The only problem is that is may be a bit wobbly if i were to need to adjust the bridge height. I dont think i will go the stb routing way at all. Recessed or not. Ha ha. I plan to speak to some industrial designer friends at varsity, they always have some crazy ideas. thanks for the advise, very much appreciated!
