ICM... while its true the show edited it to save on broadcast time and to fit the whole show in, the story is true. The subtitles are badly done but once you read a news article or two about him, it becomes a bigger story.
The viewers thought they were getting the edited crap blasted at them to feel pity, so the producers put the full interview up. This kid never lied about anything... actually just put it all out there. The audience however, got the full story (as they were there, of course) and those tears are real.
Funny thing is, he saw an ad for vocal lessons, and didn't know one has to pay for them. So he asked for them for free, lol. The teacher couldn't really say no to twilight kid so in turn for basic training (basic), he did chores. Worked for it in the end.
I was inspired by this kid. Pity he came second in the comp... but then again, so did Susan.
