Nice job. I didn't really pick up on mistakes, makes me a bit worried actually ? How did you record this out of interest; 2 guitar tracks, a single take each and another take for the video? I've always wondered with good covers if they are all done single takes (like it would be if you saw someone perform it live) or if there is lots of studio magic involved.
Thanks so much! ?
I'm still kinda figuring things out, especially trying to sync the audio and video ??? haha and iMovie.
But I started off by taking the drum midi track from guitar pro, and letting it trigger Superior Drummer and then recorded the first guitar rhythm track for the left side.
There I punched in and just fixed the obvious screw-ups a bit cause I was recording the parts as I was learning the song hahahaha I was WAY too excited to first practice it for a couple of days. ?
Towards the end of the song there are 3 guitars, so I recorded the the "3rd" guitar and after that I recorded the actually "second" guitar for the right side and that was one take. The same take that was recorded on video. ?
After that I just automated the panning for the lead part at the end.
And then came the bass which I also punched in a bit. hehe
I suppose that the tracks that are not recorded on video can be perfected a little bit, but it's maybe a good idea (I think ???) not to make it too perfect otherwise it will probably make any mistakes in the live performed stuff stand out more?
I've wanted to do this for so long now but never had a good enough camera and after I got my new iPhone 4S last saturday I was way too excited to just "take my time" ? haha
