white stripes - icky thump sound

Hi

I've been listening to quite as bit of white stripes recently. The song Icky Thump has a strange organ, electric type sound he uses for solo stuff. What is that?

The one like midway into the song, not the intro one right? Hmmm thought it was a hammond at first, but must have been confused with some of his other stuff.

I don't know the song, but I recognise the sound - it's an analog pitch shifter glitching as the range is shifted (you've gotta love technology when it's misused creatively).

Difficult to find one - let alone one with a range control that glitches in a similar way. Also more of a studio effect as you'd need to be twiddling the range knob while you are playing.

You can fake it with a very bitty fuzz and some unusual note choices - that's what Adrian Belew does when KC play Three of a Perfect Pair live.

I thought he was just using his Micro Amp (Which he cranks to 11) + the pog. That said the fuzz factory I had could do a lot of the sounds in that song. Maybe not 100%, but pretty close.
