Anyone know if anyone bring in THD products
refuogee
I was looking for low watt amps and I found this article:
http://www.bestcovery.com/best-low-wattage-guitar-amplifier
regardless of if this is true does anyone know if anybody brings in THD products, would be awesome to test one of their amps or get a hot plate even.
Thanks for any feedback ?

doesn't seem so ☹
no listed SA distributor for THD and the only place that sells them seems to be wantitall.co.za, so no demo models to test
Perhaps someone else knows?

Guitartone brings in Swart. They also bring in an attenuator I believe.

+1 to Aja. I don't think any of the amps on that list are the "best" small amps - they are all good amps and excellent choices in their price ranges, but compared to the next level up price wise, they usually (and understandably) fall a little short. Given a choice on those amps, the Vox Night Train would be my first choice.
The Univalve
does
stand out from the selection there, but it is playing in the price range of the big boys ($900), so should really be compared to those amps - and it does come up short against other amps in the same range. They were very popular at one point (when small amps were still a rarity), but most people ended up moving them on after the honeymoon period because of a distinct lack of low end, regardless of speaker cab.
Also, it depends on what type of sound you are after... The THD leans more to rockier tones, the Swarts are more bluesy, etc.
Speaking for myself. The Swart Atom is the best small amp I've ever played and I've been itching to get my hands on a Cornford Carrera (or better, a Harlequin) for years. Neither suffers from "small amp syndrome" (the boxy sound small amps usually have). Swart also have models like the Tweed, which have a full 12" speaker, but are still only 5W. Swarts are available from GuitarTone - www.guitartone.co.za , Cornford... IDK if anyone is bringing them in - no-one was last time I looked.
On the rock side, I was quite impressed with Mojo JoJoe's little Matamp. Don't know much about them though.

Feedback, the Fender distributors, brought in some of the THD Hotplates a couple of years ago AFAIK. Music Connection here in JHB definitely had a few Hotplates. No amps though. I think it was only a once-off thing unfortunately.

I do beleive that Paul Bothner bring in the THD hot plates but not sure of anything else.
