Special thanks to webjame for this baby. Smoking deal on the guitar as well a case and the OG set of pups as well. She has toneriders on the moment, but I'll probably end up changing them out. So she's an AR Artist 300 model. Totally stunning guitar in near mint condition, with what appears to be very little play time on her.

This was one guitar that I wasn't going to haggle on as I felt the price was more than fine and in all honestly, I thought that something was up because it was TOO cheap.

I was looking an an LTD on the forum as well as the other ART, but felt that the 300 was calling my name, so I didn't wait till my AR or warlock sold, I just blew my pedal purchase kitty and bought another guit. Will post better pictures in the morning.

Yup Alan it was hard to turn it down, the toneriders have to go though. I'm just hoping that the stock pups that were included are the original 58's.

That's one of the original '80s models isn't it? So it should be the Super 58s. Strangely enough, I've never been a huge fan of the Super 58s - nothing wrong with them, they're just a bit too hot for my tastes.

That is a reissue from early to mid 2000s.. The 80s models had cloud tail pieces and did not have chrome hardware, rather the gold plated stuff, also, the vol and tone pots were different.

Identically specced though, so yeah the pups should be super 58s. One of my favs.

Awesome buy man. That one def caught my eye. I have an AR3000 but almost got one of these when I was in the market. Great guitar, great price. ?

The 2007 reissue also had the cloud bridge, hence me estimating mine to be prior 2006.

edit: Actually pretty close, according to the serial number it comes from the Cort Factory in Korea June 2006 and was # 2839 built that month.

I couldn't wait to see what the pups were because I really wanted Super 58's, so I strung her down and pulled out the pups as in the tonerider box there was a brand new Rebel 90 B and a Super 58 F, so I has praying that the original owner thought that the Rebel 90 wasn't up to scratch compared to the Super 58. Luckily I was right.

So I'll be flogging a set of toneriders soon on the forum as it's not my taste. I like hot.

Will post it on the thread as soon as I've taken some decent pictures.

Bluju, I'd love to have a 3000, but prices nearing 15K, it's out of my price range for the moment.

Correct, 2007 was the first of the reissues with the cloud tail pieces..

These fiddles really are the business.. Easily up there quality wise with more expensive gitfiddles..

Also, and without trying to sound like a chop, the "newer generation" artists, arx, art etc etc imho do not nearly do the artist name justice.. Ibanez should just stick with the tried and trusted.. How awesome would an AR 150, 200, 500 be?

Not to mention the prestige ranges, 3000 and 5000...

Nice guitar! I just bought a 1982 Ibanez Musician mc -100 off junkmail in its original case for R800!
Looks to have new pickups, zebra style , rest looks original. As it is in Joburg I will not be able to play it until I get it down to Durbs in a few weeks. Has anyone played one and what can I expect? Was it a good deal? I know it is the bottom of the range musician.

What a sentimental sight. I sold that guitar to webejame about a year and a half ago. My father bought it for me as a present as I had been awarded a full scholarship to study. He bought it for me on one condition - that he had naming rights. The name is actually quite fantastic - Mojo Minotaur. It has had a lot of work done on it: new pickups, about 3 setups, a new bone nut and straplocks. The guitar is PERFECTLY set up for elevens. And, it is incredibly beautiful. If you do end up selling Mojo Minotaur again, I would love to buy it off you. I still have some form of attachment to it, even though I am now a devout Strat man!

Awesome to hear that the original owner is still floating about. Webejame told me that he bought it off a member on here, but I never thought that the guy/ girl was still on here.

I had a suspicion that some work had been done on her because when I lifted up the pups last night to see what was in there and also noted that the neck nut was done as well. (awesome no need to do that as the AR neck nut is usually crud). Any idea as to why both toneriders were bought, but only the neck R90 installed? As I see the bridge pup is still the super58. The only mod that I will be doing is swapping back the super58 in the neck, besides that she's pretty much perfect. I think that there are 10's on there at the moment, but when I'm due to change, I'll probably try 11's and see how she can handle it.

I didn't get the locks for the strap, but my schaller strap locks seem to work 100% on the nuts that are on there.

I'll take care of her as ever since I've played guido's AR, I've wanted my own. If I ever do sell, I will let you know, but it won't happen anytime soon.

Have to agree 100% with that. I also have the ARX300 and even though they look similar, the ARX is slimmer, the scale is the same, but the neck is slotted deeper into the body than my AR300 and it feels smaller. Still an awesome sounding guitar, but the feel is totally different.
