Please check this strat wiring diagram...

I've drawn up a wiring diagram to try and combine the blender wiring (i.e. blending neck pickup into bridge pickup position with a tone pot) with star grounding.

In essence the signal wiring from

combined with the ground wiring from

hope you don't mind me using the picture Alan...

I've come up with this...

I'm essentially painting by numbers... would the more technically minded folks mind check my diagram to make sure it works... I'm pretty sure about everything except the grounding of the blender pot...

Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Supposedly the best way to ground things is to have 2 "points", one being a signal ground, the other a shielding ground. There was an in depth discussion here.

Personally, I would wire all the pickup grounds directly to the volume pot, ground the volume lug to the back of that pot as well,

Actually, mind uploading the image you worked from with no wiring on, and I'll just draw it out for you. Will be way easier than trying to explain over text ?

Actually, should have flipped the switch around so it can be neater once wired up.

I've not checked to see if you're doing 50s tone control or that kind of thing, just worked from your diagram. I can never remember which is which without googling anyway ?

Quick questions. My pick-guard shielding would be grounding the pot bodies, so wouldn't that still have a ground loop with the back of the pots soldered together? Or am I missing something?

Yes you're right.

Hmmm lets think. I can't come up with a better solution than yours considering that, besides possibly removing some of the shielding on your body, screwing a solder tag into the wood, and running your signal star there. But that is not elegant at all.

The only things I would do different then and this is only because of neatness, is to ground the cap, and the neck blender to it's own pot casing.
