Ethercon cables?

Anyone know of a good local supplier for Ethercon Cables?

Ethercon is a Neutrik product so i would have a chat to the guys at Wild and Marr Cape.

Hope that helps. If you are looking for a rugged ethernet cable to make up cables then i would look at the Belden cable.

Jaycor are the agents for Belden.

Thanks Tom! I'm using a Belden cable at the mo and it is good stuff.

I was hoping someone made or sold complete Ethercon cables locally (silly, I know...). Do you know if you can add the Ethercon shells to an existing cable or if you have to make the cable up from scratch? But I suppose I should just invest in a crimping tool, some bulk cable and plugs - I've been threatening to do it for years. ?

You can fit the Ethercon Shell over standard RJ-45's. The only problem would be the backshell as that would need to be on the cable already to clamp the whole assembly together.

Fortunately crimp tools are readily available and not too expensive...... ? ?

I can make cables for you if you really come unstuck.......I'm just a little far away....... :-\

It looks like Neutrik does a version that can go on a pre-assembled cable, but I'm not sure Wild & Marr will have them.

Ag - I'm just being lazy, and if I get a crimping tool I can make up a short cable for studio and a longer one for stage, plus choose a cable suitable for stage and also get around to redoing my home network sometime too.

Let me start doing some homework...

Wild & Marr don't stock the Ethercon plugs. ☹

I'll have to get some next time I order something from RS Electronics. Must try find the best cable for the application too - something with flexibility, but still rugged enough for stage use.

PM me the Neutrik Part numbers and I'll see what I can do..
I also have a supplier for rugged Ethernet cable as well.
