The honeymoon - Review
so last night i got my Behringer V-ampire lx112 . Jensen 12" speaker rated at 70W , onboard FX (basically a V-amp) and weighs half a ton (feels like it to me anyway) .
Firstly the only thing i don't like is the very plastic control knobs and stalks , half of them have broken off already (bought it like that) , and it wasn't the knobs that broke but the stalks themself. will have to open it up and see if i can make a plan with that .
Other then my gripe about the knobs , this amp is bloody good , the volume is very controllable unlike a marshall i had recently which went from soft to loud but going up one notch , this amp goes up very control ably , at full volume it makes a hell of a noise . one thing my wife commented on is how clean sounding the amp is , the distorted and overdriven sounds are rich and very controlled and sound great , the rest of the FX like the chorus , reverb , ambience are great sounding as well .
now plugging this amp into PC (Via Midi) , brings out a whole different kettle of fish , the software is great you can simply click on the FX you want to change and in realtime you can hear the results , changing the Amp sim is as simple as clicking on a drop down , and the cabinet sim is also as easy . overall the software is powerfull and also brings with it a few setting you can't change from the front panel.
at the back of the unit theres a couple of XLR to run straight to your mixer / pc which i suspect will be good in a live enviroment as you don't have to mic up , you can turn the speaker off and run the sound straight to your PA . also if you have a spare cab there connections at the back for that letting you run stereo at a awesome 120W .
overall a really great amp , fell in love with it in 10 minutes flat , IMO a good buy.

Well it's 2 weeks on , a few band practise's later , and the amp has now got a permanent place to live . band wise it performs bloody well , still very clear and very controllable and loud as hell . could use a midi controller pedal which i am busy designing which will make this amp even more user friendly .
highly recommended ... if it was stolen i would replace it with the same
