Logo-Tamla Kahn Band

Hammeron · 2012-02-13T17:48:33+00:00

This is the new logo for the band, done by my little bro. What do you think?

Hammeron

Whoa!! Magic!
I like the scroll idea. But we are trying to break away from the font that we have been using { The one Deef has in the scroll, which is a standard font taken off the internet}
We want the 'band name' font to be be more in line with the Logo font, or something completely different, and unique.

Yeah, I just scaled that one off one of your older posters that I found. It was basically just meant to illustrate what you could do.

Good idea. As with your logo, I think it would be cool if your name was an artwork and not just an embezzled piece of text from a downloaded font. Even if you choose to get a new font off the internet, just make sure that your legalities are in place. There are many free fonts available but they are usually only free for non-commercial use. If you plan on making money ?... and LOTS of it ? ?... I suggest you design your own font.

Hammeron

Thanks guys, much obliged as always.
Will keep you posted on the full name font art.
Rock on!

OK, I thought I'd make a creative, constructive contribution for a change - I know these may not be the clean-edged type which is easier to reproduce but here goes anyway -

.....hmmm.....I do not see the initials of any other band member in that logo...or is it hidden somewhere ? :-\

BobC

Here's another take on it -

BobC, nice ! The guys love the red waxy one, would look stunning on a black T!

Clearly you guys have big talent here.
Would it be too forward to ask you to look at throwing some ideas on the Tamla Kahn name design?
I don't want to put anyone out or tred on the mods toes mind you.

Are you wanting to stick with the original logo, just add your entire name to it? or are you wanting ideas for something completely different?

Something completely different from Monty Python that's for sure!

We are happy with the TK logo with the thorns.

But for the band name - Tamla Kahn- something new, either quite different or along similar lines. A unique personally designed font if you will.

Hammeron

Off the clock!!

Really like Dewalds idea of the scroll. Maybe just pull it down a little so the bottom spikes show.

And Bobc's red wax on black is quite insane, imagine it in green on black or white on black. I'm thinking T shirt like. Or black on white T. Magic!

Now we just need the Tamla Kahn name underneath. ?

Hammeron

Don't like doing this but, Bumpelini...please?

guitarboy2828

I'd love to help out, pretty backlogged with work at the moment. Will give it a shot tonight if I get some time! ?

Hammeron

Hi lads.
I'm bumping this one more time.
We are pressed to come up with a unique font design on the band name.
We are going to go with the waxy look that Bobc came up with.
Exactly the same feel only maybe in white on black. { You could even have a choice of red, green or white on the T's }
I think it would look awesome on a T and fantastic as a poster drop to hang behind the band.
Now we need the bands name - Tamla Kahn- to appear below the logo, and this is where we need some help.
Look forward to your response, cool.

Tamla

I'm almost too embarrassed to admit that I struggled to recreate the same effect on the 'waxy' looking logo. I was just buggering around with photoshop filters and kind of stumbled upon it. Then I just saved it to a jpeg and didn't save the photoshop project file so could recall the history of the edits I made. Whenever i try and reproduce it, I can get close but not exactly the same.

What I can remember is the filters I used were : emboss, plastic wrap, neon glow and one or two others I don't remember.

As for font design, I am probably not the right person, but I will mess around with photoshop a little and see if I can recreate the effect I accidentally stumbled upon.

Cheers

You could consider something like this.

Are you not keen on using this? I'm actually a little confused as to where you are in the process and what logo's you're using and what you're wanting to do from here?

Hammeron

Paul hi.

We are 100% happy with the logo - the TK with the thorns.

We want to change the font on the band name - Tamla Kahn - to something more unique, something that obviously goes well with the logo but can also be used independantly.
We might decide to put the band name in a scroll, or not.

Does this make sense ?
