Some Jazzos doing the blues

Reinhard

I rather enjoyed this

They're all good players, and they all follow the chords. But the one with the nylon string was the only one with any blues feeling, IMO. Interesting vid though.

Bob-Dubery

Freddy King did that song. These guys have the virtuosity, but Freddy had the blues.

☹ Was meant to leave the office an hour ago, but I'm still following youtube links to other covers of this song !

Can't find a Freddy King version though so might be here awhile longer ?

Freddie is my favourite of the 3 Kings, may have to dust of a DVD tonight.

+1 to all those Rein. He's the ONLY bluesman that never ever leaves my playlist.

Jack-Flash-Jr

Singe's facial hair model as well as a brilliant guitarist. He also has the Willie Dixon Stamp of Approval tm

That was thoroughly enjoyable. I like the fact that they were all different.
I agree that the first player had more blues qualities to his playing
but the second guy had awesome jazz idioms in his playing.
I don't mind "un-bluesy" blues playing. I've been
at gigs playing 24 blues solos in one night... and I tell you, some
other tricks in the arsenal don't hurt at all.
