Hmmm, good in general. Do you remember a Pretoria band called Little Oblivion? Your
vocalist sounds very similar. Your vocalist has a bit more oomf.
The cover art is gorgeous. Who did that?
Some minor advice: You have a vocalist who can sing without offending people's ears, great,
now all you need to make sure of is that your show live is about more than the music(provided
you sound almost like the recording live). I obviously haven't seen you guys, but make sure
your show top notch and you could do some cool stuff, probably once you
turn 18 if you get the right breaks etc.
Remember, it's a business (if you want to do it for more than the sheer pleasure of playing open mic night).
A business plan really helps for a band. ? Look at Not My Dog... they made some waves here, but they also
played the viper room in L.A. without being known there.
On that note, to make the choruses stand out a tad more, have you considered adding some vocal
harmonies and such in those areas? Or even guitar harmonies? Or even... synth. ? Okay, maybe not
synth. But just distinguish the choruses a bit? That's just my 10 cents. use it, don't use it.
Concerning the artwork, it was done by a designer in the US called Steve Pierce. He did bands like Bless The Fall, Versus the Ocean, Amyst etc. (big names). He designed the front artwork, back as well as CD design based off a painting by our vocalist.
The painting the artwork was based off:
Anyway, coincidentally, we ARE going to implement Synth in the future of the band. I'd like that to get going as soon as possible, so while we look for a keyboardist I've actually started learning piano myself.
We played alongside Not My Dog at I think it was "Fracture Fest", excellent band and Hanno is extremely talented and recently started a band in New Z.
We try our best with the business and I think we're doing quite good, although I know there's always room for improvement. Especially our live performances aren't where I'd like them to be yet, we "sound" good, but we need to start bringing more to the table at shows, honestly I'm not sure how to improve other than to just play shows and learn along the way.
Anyone else wanna share something? ?
