I just got a Studio Pro Plus in the US. I don't care for the Burstbucker pro and 490 combination and would like to get a more vintage PAF type tone. I am thinking SD Seth Lover SH55s- they would also look killer with the nickel finish- any comments/alternatives would be appreciated.
Thanks

I had Tonerider Generators in my Vintage LP, great sounding PAF style pickups, maybe a tad too poweful for what you might want. For a more vintage sound you could also try the Tonerider Alnico's (II or IV) as well. They all come in Nickel finishes and are easier on the pocket than SD's or Dimarzio's.

Depends how much you want to spend. If I had a choice for an LP would probably be something like Bareknuckle Mules. But they're not cheap.

Seth Lovers are a good choice for vintage PAF sounds. Lindy Fralin Pure PAFs or Lollar Imperials (my faves) are also excellent choices. The Lollars have a wide choice of covers.
It also depends on what you call "Vintage" - some of the Bare Knuckle pups are great for vintage rock type stuff.
