So 22 years living in Durban... never experienced a single bit of crime.

Move to Gauteng, and 1 month later... I'm held up at knife-point and relieved of the money in my wallet and brand-new and uninsured Samsung Galaxy S2.

I don't know what's with Pta lately. Crime here has not been THIS bad in the past 4 or 5 years I have been here.

Sorry to hear that man. I have 2 sisters who live in Durban North. I reckon they've experienced about 5 instances of crime between them in the last 7 years. Crime is unfortunately everywhere.

Not that this matters, it really doesn't but there are areas that are more high risk than others..

Mate of mine was stabbed at menlyn mall parking of all places.. Also for phone and cash ???

It was in Pretoria CBD... Du Toit Street. So yes a very sketchy area indeed!

And ya I know crime is everywhere, I've been digging living in JHB so far, so no complaints apart from the crackhead carguard and his mates in PTA.

Before you go wandering in other places of grave danger, I must caution you about this heinous gang that roam among us,

They're generally quite easy to spot..

They wear blue, usually with some sort of horn symbol adorning said blue, think steer or a male cow..

These yobs are known to chase down folk who don't conform to their beliefs and forcefully hand them tickets for a show called lofty or something like that..

Another way of easily identifying these people is their cars.. They seem to have spawned blue nuts..

I have heard of such a gang... I believe they used to be a force to be reckoned with, but then I heard that someone called Chilly Boy is their new leader.

Now they're just funny.
