Does it occur to anybody but me that maybe the Parlotones have actually worked hard and worked smart to get where they are?
I'm no fan, but I don't see the point of begrudging them what they've achieved.
They've definitely worked long and hard, I was at school with them and they where already going back then, I think before then Khan had a band called Mooncalves or something, so they've definitely stuck to their guns and kept at it for a long long time, doing the same kind of indie brit-pop music which is admirable and also proves that if any body/band works at it hard enough and long enough they too can have success (providing they don't suck-anus of course, but even then the ass-suckishness will disappear over time)
They've made a success doing the music they want to do, so I give them full credit even though the music is not my type of thing. Same as Lady Gaga and Nickelback (although Nickelback actually has a few good riffs I like and the production, if you're into OVERPRODUCTION, is really really good).
The only negative I can give the Parlotones, and it's probably more their promotion company, is they seem to be everywhere, in a kind of force-fed-whether-you-like-it-or-not kind of way, on the back of pc magazines, kfc boxes, mtv, idols, advertisements, it's made it seem like a trendy iParlotones kind of thing...................which is nothing but annoying.
