Guyatone GA-820 service/repair?

I have a Guyatone Model G-820 guitar amp head. The thing is old and I have no idea when last it was in use. 4 of the valves is missing and I guess the caps has dried out by now. Would it be worthwhile to bin it or repair it? I would love to attempt it myself, if viable to repair as there is no surface mount components and the components are well marked. Alternatively, if economically viable, is there someone that is clued up on these things to repair or give an assessment of condition? PTA/JHB area.

I think only a tech can tell you exactly what is needed and if it will be worth the repair. JP Le Roux seems to be the man in your end of the country.

No, he's solo. Do a search on the amp board - he's been mentioned more than a few times.

JP is busy breathing life into this '60s amp as we speak, for a mere R1300. It needs a reverb tank too, but I will source one later. First I want to hear how this thing makes music. I will also need to make a cabinet (I think that is what you call the box that houses the speaker and where the pictured part goes in) , so if anyone has some ideas or designs for such a box, please let me know. I would really appreciate it. I don't even know what the fully assembled amp looked like back in the '60s. Guess I will have to Google some more.

I eventually made some progress. My first attempt at building a cabinet, so screwed up in a few places. Next step is to get the rest of the goodies to complete it. Is there a shop I can just walk into and buy corners, handles and covering? Not being a guitarist myself, I have no idea how good it sounds, but next to the other amps in the house it sounds pretty sweet. Any suggestions?

Now I need to get the rest of the goodies to complete it.
