Gibson Flying V Traditional Pro
Mannoroth
I'm looking for a lefty gibson flying V... Wonder if they can make me one of these, any suggestions / opinions?
makepeace
Play it upside down ?
I'm sure you'd pay a serious premium for them to make you a lefty, but its likely possible.
I'd guess your budget is pretty high if you're aiming for a Gibson. If you don't mind a bolt on neck, why don't you get a custom Warmoth body, and buy the Gibson hardware and neck? You could have one of the locals finish it for you. I'm sure you'd end up within budget and you'd have a GREAT guitar.

unobtanium ...Gibson no longer make a lefty V ....they did make em years ago and if you could find one you gonna hoes ....a lot...
when i bought the V i did a lot of research and ended up with the Gaskell which i think has been discontinued as well.
I think yr best bet to get a "gibson" is to look at the Tokai FL110 range (think its that) ....as close as dammit to the original and affordable .....should be around 10 grand in ZA but i aint seen one mebbe tokai sa can order u one
if you find one , post pics man

As far as I know the Tokais that are currently available for lefties are only in LP shapes, I think they can have a V crafted but Mr. tokai said it took him months to have the lefties made.
Also, if I'm not mistaken the V's for Tokai are part of the "Chinese" range and they are not as great as some of the upper range models (Speaking under correction).
Perhaps buying the parts and having someone put an Axe together is not a bad option, otherwise I could consider looking at Jackson or Esp, I know they make lotsa V's.
I already have a V (the Gaskell) and it works great but you know we guitarists can never have enough!

@ Icecreamman
Maybe we can tag up and get bulk discount - have 2 made ?
Only way they are gonna cater for us is if we create more demand!

This is true ,very true
i think the FL range are japanese made but i stand under correction...
V are horny guitars ......
Edit: The Tokai Flying V is the FV range (duh) not FL as i indicated......
i the higher end FV would be MIJ, if the scenario is coorect the 110 indicates the price in yen and 110 000 indicates proably MIJ... but i stand to be corrected.

I don't believe they do this in a lefty though. May be possible to custom order. Speak to Lance, as in TokaiSA
