Google Chrome problems?

I can't even bank anymore or go to my M-web account. ☹ Have to use Mozilla now - pity, I liked the way Google Chrome looked and worked.

No problem banking wise for me, FNB, but I have been having issues with Youtube which they have acknowledged (closing a video causes chrome to freeze, lol)

I'm quite fond of Opera! Even though the also have some IB problems, it's just so well laid out!

Might not be Chrome, might be developers coding for a specific browser or testing only in one browser. I've seen this before. That's a distinction that doesn't help you very much.

When I was running a development team that wrote apps that used a web browser for the user interface I told my team to code to W3 standards and to not worry about browsers. That way if something didn't work we knew that it wasn't because we'd used some proprietary feature in some or other browser.

Again a distinction that doesn't help you very much. I'll go sit in a corner now or something. ?

I'm trying out Opera now as per Jacques's suggestion. (I'm a fickle user) I also noticed a few emails from Google Chrome with their new Terms and Conditions (or something) and all my passwords and user names are gone. Who's got time to worry about all this stuff?

I have used Chrome for six months without any errors or problems. Obviously like Bob has said, Sites that are written for Explorer specific would look a little dodgy.

I use it at home and at work on two vastly different providers as well

I think it might be all the midget horse porn sites.

COM Surrogate is, if I'm not mistaken, Chrome (or any other app) passing over the handling of plug-ins externally, so when the plug-in crashes it doesn't take the whole browser down with it, which is kind of a good thing I guess. I obviously just have a plug-in running which has issues.

Should also mention it started recently, for about the last year Chrome has given me no problems at all.......................(aside from the usual Google big-brother monitoring my every move so they can take over the world and my mind kind of stuff)

Chrome gives me a few issues now and again but it's still my favourite browser.

If it's giving you hell, press Shift-Ctrl-N and try doing the same thing in the new "incognito" window that pops up. Sometimes this fixed the issue because there are no cookies or cache in the equation to mess things up.

Of course, this is far from a solution but it helps when you need to do a payment and your IB website won't open in "normal" mode.

I will try that thanks Norio - finding Opera laggy - I put the 'Turbo' option on and ie 1kb per aeon I think I'm swapping back again till something else comes along.

I get the COM Surrogate errors while trying to load external files through CHROME, like uploading a pic or whatever.
