Not really a reverb pedal, it's a single amp/speaker modelling pedal that includes spring reverb and vibrato (like the amp it models). Most people who try them use them in front of an amp, which doesn't often work (regardless of what Boss/Roland say).
They seem usually to be on a special of about R1k and I've seen them at R600 on "Birthday" sales. In fact they were dropping the price so low at one point I presumed they were knee deep in the things at the warehouse.
In the same Boss/Fender range, the FRV-1 is well worth a look (rarer, but in the same price range too):
