Yup, did this and posted pics in the gear section. Works like a bomb and is uber neat.

I made up a pedal board using sanded down sections of old fence posts, rubber feet with the power supply mounted underneath.

My satchurator is being bumped though......I'm looking for a delay and maybe an accoustic simulator.

Nice - probably going to start building something similar soon. I can help with the delay ? but not selling my acoustic simulator - got the Boss AC-3 and enjoying it

Bump.

Remembered this from ages ago and just attached my new trem to my board this way. Scrounged a section of old chain that the local bike shop was chucking after a service. I don't plan to rearrange anything in a hurry so this is working great for me right now.

How did I miss this thread? funnily enough, I also came across these chains as an alternative to Velcro. I just havn't got around to fixing my board yet. flatfourfan, i don't suppose you'd have a few left over that you could sell me?

Maybe just do what I did and pop into the local bike shop and ask one of the mechanics if he has any excess chain he's chucking. I got a section for free.

One of my clients is a bike importer, I'll ask them if they have old chains to donate to me. Ya, I am gatfol of velcro too, the velcro is stronger than the glue that goes on the pedal, so I could just as well have double sided taped them to the board. I'm still moving things around, so just not committing to the chains yet.

I remember this thread from way back but I can't seem to remember why one would not want to use velcro? Can someone just jog my memory please? What exactly is the problem with velcro?

My problem is that after a while the velcro sticks better than the glue that keeps the velcro on the pedal, then when you pull the pedal off, the velcro stays behind and you get to start all over again. Unless I'm just using sh!t velcro and/or glue.

any recommendations to stick the velcro to the bottom of the pedal?

I bought a LPB from someone that already had velcro on the bottom, I need to push down on the board with my feet and pull with both hands to get that pedal off, that's some sturdy stuff, wonder where I can get more of that.

Depends on the Velcro. Velcro brand Velcro comes in different strengths. The stuff you get in a fabric shop often doesn't grip well enough and the stuff industry uses is often too powerful.

It's also how much you use...

A stronger weatherproof alternative to velcro is 3M's Dual Lock clear tape or coins. It uses inter-meshing ball-ends instead of hooks and loops as per velcro. Rated to hold 2lb's/sq.inch, its really strong if correctly applied. Downside is price and availability... I couldn't find it locally so had to import through Amazon. I use it to fix a headlight protector to my motorcycle but should work great with pedals as well. The design also restricts movement more than velcro does.

Where to get industrial velcro then? What glue will work best to stick to the bottom of the pedal?

You can get self-adhesive industrial strength velcro at Builder's Warehouse. Been doing so myself for most of the last decade. Used to get 3M and lately got Velcro brand, but it's essentially the same thing. Extremely tough to get the velcro off the pedals because of the adhesive and just as tough to pull the pedal off your board. Pedals don't go anywhere.
