Airguitar Lots of criticism came my way for saying what I did in my previous posts. I said it because in recent times have heard one too many bands who can play the proverbial shit out of any and all SRV tunes but still aren't really playing the blues. How many of us Japies were 'Born in Chicago' or even know what a Texas flood really is. How many bad versions of Parisian Walkway do we have to listen to in the name of Blues. My point is this:- the pentatonic scale is a tool to express emotion, but if no real connection exists to it then even the best played turnarounds are just cliche, and THEN my friends, Carly Simon or the chieftains DO come closer to the blues than we do.
Zulublues If you liked " The Best of Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac" then give Gary Moore's " Blues For Greeny" a listen to. Gary covers Peter's best songs in a most humble way. This along with Santana 3 is one of my "desert island discs".
