'House' addicts. Anyone?

lindsmuse

I am currently watching season after season and am absolutely hooked. One of the things I really love is the songs they choose to play at the end of each episode. They are always so perfectly fitting and make each episode end with such punch. And Hugh Laurie is a musician in his own right. Why do some people get so much talent?! Any other lovers of House or recommendations for what I can watch for when I come down?

I am a big fan. Was a bigger fan in the earlier seasons because the show's very formulaic approach does get a bit tiresome after a while. I still absolutely love the epic finales of most of the seasons, though formulaic, they are still awesome. I'm a fan of how much of a d**k he is ?

Seventhson

I thought for a moment you meant houses(Can't stop buying them ?)

dee

I was, but it got extremely formulaic and predictable, so I stopped watching.

After a few seasons I could tell you exactly who's gonna be sick, at what point they are gonna try a cure (which will fail) and then someone will say something and House will think of the answer.

I'm a fan, although I have little sympathy for any of the characters besides House. They all come off as pretty 2 dimensional by comparison.

For come-down, try the diametric opposite in terms of hospital shows - Scrubs. Actually, it's not entirely the opposite, because it features a similar doctor in the guise of Dr. Cox (almost like seeing House from the funny side).

Oddly enough, some of my friends who ended up going into medicine mentioned how Scrubs is actually closest to what really happens in a hospital, than many of the other so called medical shows like ER and Grey's.

I watched it for a while, but it got a bit same old same old after a while. So I don't go out of my way to watch it any more. I do like Scrubs, but I don't plan to watch it, I just stumble across an episode every now and then.

Have a watch of "Memphis Beat". Great blues soundtrack.

One of the best shows to have ever been on TV imo (we will completely forget about the most recent season though, that was a bit of a joke and not in a good way).

Will try Scrubs. thanks for that. Someone said I should watch Jeeves - for Hugh Laurie. I see the formula thing and have my timeline showing when I watch so know exactly when what should happen (cheat) - but it's the humour and his delivery that's keeping me locked in! Must be some phenomenal script writers in there. Him and poor old Wilson what a treat ?

AlanRatcliffe

Big fan too - I love how he is a complete and utter self centred b*tard, but you still like him because he's so good at being one. The games he and Wilson play with each other are classic (the kidnapped Flying V!).

The later series have petered out a bit (I sometimes wish the US series would limit themselves to only a few seasons like the UK series do) and they have reached the point of changing the characters around him, which usually means there is only a series or two left. And it's never lupus. ? I actually thought they should have kept him in the nuthouse for the whole of S6 and in jail for the current series (S8). Season eight starts up again in the US today BTW.

So? Neither do I.

Edit: This was meant to have a ? at the end.

Love it! The wicked sense of humour is what has me hooked as well. The formulaic episodes don't help but there's plenty left to keep it VERY enjoyable.

Oh and 13 is yummy ?

Hope this is not seen as a hijack - but have you guys seen GAME OF THRONES?

It is crack... A must see

I've found the books significantly better. Personally found the episodes too long and found it hard to follow all the different characters, kinda silly considering the books are long as hell (for me) and there are a lot more characters but just how i work ?

You're not. Indeed I came rushing into this thread because of the unlikely and intriguing possibility that Lindsmuse had suddenly become a house aficianado.

Well she has... but another kind of "house".

It is not a case of "Lindsmuse in da house! Give it up!"

Actually i lied , i do have a TV ...one of those nice sleek 40 inch flat screen thingymajigs,.....but i dont get a signal so its like a guitar without strings..... beautiful to behold but otherwise useless and not as beautiful to behold as a guitar either.
