I am based in UK but a mate is having 40th birthday party (11 Feb) and has invited me to play in the band he is putting together. All very last minute and exciting!
He has a Clapton strat and US tele so I don't need to take a guitar but I need to take some pedals and am struggling with what to take!
Wah ? Overdrive ? Compressor? Tremelo ?
He is a singer song writer and will have some session guys for the party (Barry Van Zyl - drums, Schalk Joubert - Bass) so this is all very exciting.

So what gear would you take if in my position?

Depends on the amp for me man!!!!
But to be safe: od x2, delay, wah!! And three other concerning your taste and the music!!!

Depends on the music, your tastes and the amp. Judging from the clip, you're going to be playing clean to slightly gritty at the most. So a medium gain overdrive at least and maybe a comp. Chorus if you like them too.

Thanks guys.
The amp is a Peavey Classic 30 which I reckon will be ok,
I have narrowed it down to:
Delay - borrowing a DD3
Chorus (or compressor) - Boss CE2 or Keeley Comp
Overdrive - Keeley modded TS9
Wah - cry baby - I have a spare one so will probably leave it in Cape Town somewhere....

Just remember, Capetonians hate anything by Boss. You'll have a riot.
Just kidding ?
Also don't be afraid to ask some of us to lend you stuff if you haven't taken what you need. You might not want much from my moth eaten collection, and I can't speak for everyone, but this is gfsa man. So I'm pretty confident you don't have to take 35kg of pedals in your carry-on.

Cheers singlemonkey! I might just have to try out your offer once I have decided what I need!!
And I share the consensus on Boss pedals but I have a Line DL4 and that is a huge MoFo so no chance of taking that so am borrowing the DD3 off a mate!
