I had a dream...

I was playing slide guitar at some outdoor show. I was playing a cherry-red '57 style Flying V. It was awesome. At some point I stepped off stage and then stepped back on and was handed... a Jackson V. The tone was terrible. I stopped playing midway through the song and found the '57 style V again and all was well.

Anyone else had guitar GAS invade their sleep?

P.S.: I did a google image search and it doesn't seem that Gibson ever produced a cherry red V in '57 styling - except for some hideous thing with body binding and block inlays. Oversight much?

I dreamt I found an epiphone flying V in a general second hand store once and bought it.

When I woke up, I had to have that guitar. That was years ago and because of that dream, I still have the urge to own it and is still on my list of guitars to own. Although might not be on the top of the list, but its still there.

I dreamed that I met up with Dave Gilmour near Hartbeespoort Dam and he had this old battered Tele and insisted that I try it out, I was hugely embarrassed and was too scared to try a Floyd song, so I had a go at Sultans of Swing.....

I think this dream came about after Visiting Aubs and playing on his Tele, and jamming along with Stratisfear to Sultans of Swing!
I haven't stopped dreaming of that Tele ever since

One exceptional Asian manufacturer does make a cherry '57 V. This is what I was playing in my dream:

Weird thing is, if I did get a V for slide, which would be awesome, I'd probably get a '68 style V in black and paint it up - a little like Hendrix did.

But I'm actually going through a low GAS phase, which is probably why my dreams are compensating ?

Na. Check the Bacchus pic I posted. Through-body tailpiece. Pickup rings. Different neck/body joint. Different TRC. The one you posted is the '60s style V.
