Somewhere on this forum I read about stuff called Fretdoctor. So I oredered some and on 8 December the chap told me he'd shipped. But I also ordered stuff from Acme around about then and got it about 2 weeks ago. And I was so disappointed with the presents I got that I ordered stuff from Warmoth right after Christmas. And I got that last Saturday. But my Fretdoctor aint here yet. So I'm thinking that maybe this bottle of stuff is sitting at customs somewhere with the Hawks trying to decide if they should send someone over to my possie.
Has anyone ordered from this BEA FIFER outfit before? Do fluids take longer to get through the system?

Generally fluids get through most systems faster than solids... ?
While not a beer drinker myself I have also noticed that beer seems to get through the system faster than most other fluids and requires more frequent top-ups as a result. ? ?

There may well be more airline security issues around fluids.

Do you have a tracking number for your fluids? A couple of calls might get the system moving...
Ray
I've got tracking numbers from PayPal but who would I call?

Ray, the reality is that it is a bit of a lottery. I ordered two pickguards from Warmoth and it took about 8 weeks to arrive after being shipped. Two weeks after the Warmoth Shipping confirmation I purchased a pedal and CD's which were sent together via standard USPS. These arrived after about 3 weeks!!
I am currently waiting for a pedal for about 6 weeks now ..... >☹
When I ordered my Logan Custom Tele we shipped it via standard USPS mail and I tracked it's journey. It arrived at the Central SAPO distribution hub in less than a week and I then waited nearly 4 weeks for it to arrive at my local PO!

I've been buying Fret Doctor for years. No problems.
Postal shipping does vary: 3 - 9 weeks in my experience, and you tend to the longer times over the December period.

The site should have a preferred courier listed... pop the number in the couriers online tracker or call them.
Edit: as Alan says Dec will slow things down unless you're Amazon ?

Ray, I wouldn't worry about it. Most men find that fluids take a bit longer to get through they system once they've got a few miles on the clock, so to speak. It's quite common and there's probably a support group in your neck of the woods.
Ray
Ya Bob. But they wont be able to sort me out with 9 weeks. Anyway, I'll just wait for it. I was wondering why noone had bought this stuff in quantities yet and made available locally to the people.

Can anyone tell me where I could find a phone number for customs. I actually have quite a few orders placed in December that havent arrived. And one or two have arrived. Also, is there some sort of place where they list what is subject to import duty and what isnt?
Cheers - Ray

Unfortunately just about every conceivable thing is listed in the Custom’s Tariff books, making them not only technical to understand, but also quite a collection of thick and hefty doorstoppers. To make matter worse, items are been constantly updated and changed.
Most, if not all items are subject to Vat, while some items have additional duties and even surcharges attached. Your best bet would be to get hold of a Customs Clearing and Forwarding Agent and ask them to give you a Custom’s Tariff Number and Description. Most should willingly supply this information, some however, may only furnish this info if you are their client.

Ray,
To give you an idea, I have ordered hardware and lumber etc.. The lumber I ordered with express shipping, arrived in 3 days, the hardware I ordered regular shipping, its been 3weeks already. But, they did say it would take 3-5 weeks.
As for customs, don't know their number

Ray, try find the number for your regional mail distribution hub; in CT its CapeMail, but not sure about your one. Then you could give them a call and cite the international tracking number of your fluids. If they have entered the SA pipeworks, they will have been assigned a local tracking number, which you will then be able to enter on SAPO's online tracker at the top drop down on their page: www.sapo.co.za.
Otherwise - just sit it out, I've had things take aaaaarges! A set of strap buttons from China took something like half a year to get to me.

The last two items I got via USPS (both from Lovepedal), the USPS tracking followed it right up until it cleared SA customs - and I got the item in the mail two days later.
