I'll come out and say it. These guys are just plain crap. No, not because I find them repulsive (which I do) but simply because, judged by common standards, they are unsuccessful. They have had four years to make a mark and they haven't. They are "popular" not because they are musicians but only because they shock and I use the word "popular" loosely as it is more like a small but vocal cult following.

The only award they have to show is the Myspace Best Music Video of 2010. Does Myspace still exist? Anyone? Flip, The Parlotones have been more successful than Die Antwoord. Whether you love or hate The Parlotones, at least they are measured on their music, these guys are measured on their shock value.

Nope, I think they're getting a disproportionate amount of press - much like Julius Malema and Steve Hofmeyr. It's not like they get publicity for the trade in which they're applying their craft. They're getting publicity for their shock antics. Sorry, I'll pass and I actually wish the rest of the world would move on as well and leave these wankers to fade into the obscurity where they belong.

well they do have flea and manson in the videa, who the parlotones have? ?

I find it "interesting", won't go as far as "love". It's well done though and I think it hits the mark they were aiming for.
They get bonus points for having Jack Black in it... hehe.

They are good at what they do for sure. There is a level of respect I have for people who are making waves in the music biz, whether I like their style or not. I even admire the biebs for "making" as far as he has.

I can never take them serious. They feed on exploiting cape colored gang culture, gangs are a big problem in SA and there is nothing glamorous about raping, killing, doing drugs and stealing!
Now for the last couple of years they have started to use all these voodoo/satanic filth in their music videos. Its revolting just like their vocabulary! I dont see how anyone can find this vile music entertaining! Its just promoting everything thats wrong! This world is filled with this kind of garbage these days and people just accept it and then complain about the state of things in this country as well as the world even though they just love SIN!

If you can produce as many albums as they have and movies and travel the world like they have... come back here so we can say if we like your music or not. :-[

Not that I agree or disagree with any sentiment posted. I'm a Waddy Jones fan from his Max Normal days, but Die Antwoord does nothing for me musically - so I ignore them and pull out my old Max Normal cd's ?.
