So finally after hours of research, months of saving and a few GF topics I finally got my bass today!!
Introducing the Fender Modern Player Jaguar Bass
The photos is crappy selfone quality because my iPad is the only camera I have
For those of you not familiar with the Modern Player its a brand new Fender line from a new chinese factory so it has Crafted in China on the back of the headstock.
I already added schaller straplocks because i always fear my bass will fall while im playing.. The neck is very slim and cumfy, i think it has the same nut with and dimensions as a Jazz bass.. After I picked up the bass I took it straight to the bands studio/rehearsal space to krank it up!! With the P-bass pup soloed it has amazing attack, brain expoding attack! For some reason i didnt expect it to sound that aggresive but if you start slapping it really explodes.. With the P and J pup full the sound becomes alot more tame and subtle. The knobs are simple V/V/T so its real easy to get a great sound. The bridge has brass saddles which looks really nice but if anyone could comment if the brass sadles makes a diffrence id appreciate it..
Before i got the bass i had a million ideas of changing pups, adding a onboard preamp, adding bridge and pup covers, adding a Graphtech nut etc. But im really happy with the stock sound at the moment!!! But i might still ad bridge and pickup cover (or just a bridge cover) anybody know which covers will fit? Id prefer a p-bass bridge cover..
