and it seems most players using em ....have a feel /sound of that old cult movie soundtrack twang .......ala "pulp fiction" gotta love that ..

and yes re tele's ...i was on jazz guitar site yesterday and looking at their list of recommended guitars....and lo and behold the tele is among all the jazz box's ......NO strat or les paul but the tele made the list ......

so yes as a tele owner , i have discovered that they way more versatile than they initially seem ...... and their sound is very usable live especially with a tube amp ....as it can 'dirty" up nicely so can sound fat with drive ...or twangy without ...and that neck pup is actually warm enough to keep jazz fans happy . but that tele tone cuts through the mix without excessive volume...

I'll have you know! That's surf music played through a good old Strat ?.

But yeah, you can get great jazz tone with a Strat, if you want, with a hint of Strat colour. Don't be so quick to write them off ?

Must say though, I'm looking very much forward to building my thinline one of these days ?

+1 about everything said about the Tele. Anna Calvi however - she comes across very hesitantly as a player.
