VOX Pathfinder Footswitch

I have a question for you electronics gurus:

I bough a VOX Pathfinder 15R a while back and there is an optional double footswitch for the amp that activates a gain-boost and on-board tremolo. When I asked about the footswitch the salesman said they only had stock of a single footswitch that would operate the gain-boost, and that he would throw that in for free. I never use the gain boost but would love to be able to operate the tremolo with a footswitch. So before I go out and buy the dual footswitch, is there any way I could modify the single switch to operate the tremolo only instead of the boost?

I think it should be possible. Does the footswitch run on a single 1/4" Mono jack cable? If so then yes. You'll have to replace that jack with a stereo jack and take the wire connected to the tip and connect it to the ring... the other wire will stay on the sleeve connection. So yes I think it will be possible.

If not, I have the double vox switch that you can have for free. Typing from BB so don't know where you are from but yeah, I'm in PTA and it's all yours!

Thanks Jacques, that's very generous of you! I'm in Durbs unfortunately. I'd be happy to pay for you to courier/post the pedal if it's not too much trouble? Will be in touch if my little experiment fails ?

It worked! 4 bucks for a stereo jack from A1 Radio and a couple minutes with the soldering iron and now I can activate the on-board Tremolo with the footswitch.
