teacher wanted. anyone gots any ideas, like?

so, in 1981, for my 10th bday, my parents purchased for me a small-bodied classical-style guitar. i remember remembering that the rosette was a real mosaic of real little wooden tiles - and not some fake plak-on plakker. so began my long journey and love affair with the guitar.

this is where i currently stand:
i have a basic grasp of theory, and can more-or-less apply the basic theory understanding i have to what i can play - in reverse. in other words, i work backwards when it comes to theory and playing.
my timing is relatively good; i can chugga-chugga along with the average.
if it's pentatonics you want, it's pentatonics you got.
i know what's a scale, i can play major scales, i love major scales, i know the general theory behind modes, but unless i practice really hard every day for a coupla weeks, i'm nowhere near where i should be on that front.
i love the blues, i have a good few backing tracks i've gleaned off the net and i play along to them on a most average level.
i'm able to figure out the key of a song - a basic song without too many key changes - by ear, mostly thanks to my piano training.
i can't read music and i'm shocking at rhythm charts.
and a few other things i'm sure i'm leaving out.

that's me. almost 30 years later. i want a teacher who can suss me out, give me guidance and direction in terms of what the next steps are, and guide and direct me through those next steps. i'm in job - northern suburbs - and i don't want to travel too far. plus, i'm not very demanding, are i?

anyone recommend that teacher? reply here, or pm me if you'd rather...

Well it may be a bit far for you to travel, but my guitar tutor is excellent. He's been on the music scene since late sixties / early seventies. Lead guitarist from bands such as Tidal Wave and Stingray. He's based in Northcliff Ext. 10. I don't think you could find a better tutor, his theory is right up there, but he doesn't make one feel "bogged down" by technicalities. He teaches you what you want to learn...
