PRS Modern Eagle II

Hi guys The GAS of 2011 was just starting to die down when the CFO (the misses) approved the purchase of my first PRS!!! (I know, she's flippen awesome!) Anyways: the guitar looks amazing, and the reviews on the net have been amazing. I'm contemplating flying down to Ctn (from Jhb) and having a closer look/listen. But, being a conservative accountant-I believe in the two heads are better than one principle. (hence this post to you guys for your opinions) I've only been playing for only about a year and a half-do you guys honestly think: A) I can really appreciate all there is to appreciate in such a guitar? B) Justify buying such a guitar when all I am playing is rhythm guitar in Church now and then? C) Am still a beginner basically playing power chords? I know I know... It's my money, and if it makes me happy I can do it, but I want your opinions if you were in my shoes. All inputs and comments are appreciated! Thanks Theuns

I recently bought a Custom 22 on the forum (In Alan's favourite Amber) and I absolutely love the feel, look and sound of it! Really amazing and well built guitars!
Ok I know it is not a ME, but it still reads PRS! And that says it all for me.

I also have a PRS SE Tremontti SE model, which also plays like a dream, but I think I might sell that one in a while, because she is not used enough to justify her purpose!

Thanks Pieter. I had a chance to fool around with a Custom 22 a while back - absolutely amazing! If it wasn't for the ME, I just might have gone that way, or the Custom24 (the angry larry finish is awesome).

I hear you on the SE - I tried a SE245 two weeks ago, and DAMN!!! that thing almost melted by face off!!! Couldn't believe it for the price tag (R6.8K new). But it's like you said-doesn't help us keeping them around when you reach for the US one everytime you jam (and that silly veneer isn't nearly as "sag op die oog".).

Then again-if you need an awesome guitar for when you gig-that would be my first choice-KILLS the LP studio.
