The cool thing about Craig Amps are that the designer/builder are on of the members on GuitarForum! He is one of us!!!

I have been fortunte by having the oppertunity to play on the lastest edition to come out of the CraigAmp workshop, the "BRIT-15R".

It is a 15 watt head, one channel, interactive bass and treble, master volume, cut and reverb. Handwired, full valve, covered in brown tolex!!! This is a work of art!

The Craig was on top of a Fender Cab (not sure what fender cab it was) with a MIA Fender Tele as our weapon of choice to put it through it's paces.
I was truely impressed with this little 15 watt head, the truest, fullest valve tones that you can imagine. It was so responsive with beautiful clean tones and a diffined "overdrive" when the volume was turnerd up. I imagine it was also partly the Tele's bright sound coming through and keeping the tone quite clean even at louder volumes. Unfortunately I had to leave but after I left the volume whent up even more and apperntly that was when the real magic happened.

I would like to play through it again when I have more time, and to give you guys a better review. Soooooo, I have organized that when Sean comes down to visit that we go and test this beauty again, then we can test it with Sean's Ratcliff strat that he bought from Alan and my SG. That will probably be the most comprehensive test that we can do on it with 2 guitars. Would also like to run a couple effects trough it then. I will try and get video clip then too.

Oh, and before you ask, CraigAmps are busy with a cab to go with the Brit-15R head. And no, I'm not the designer/builder, i was just the lucky fish to be one of the first guys to play through this amp. Not sure if I may menion the builder/designer's username?

You may. As a commercial enterprise he may not promote his own products or services, but there is no such limitation on his fans/users.

Sounds pretty interesting Stef, I'm looking forward to it. I don't think the Ratocaster will make the trip though :'( , we're going directly to the coast when we leave you guys, and I'm not that keen on hauling it around on holiday with us ?

It went on holiday with me at least once. I go mad without a guitar within reach and I figure if my house somehow gets cleaned out while I'm away, I'll still have one good guitar... ?

I'm a new member on the forum. It was suggested by a friend so here I am. I would like to add that I also played the Brit-15R and was blown away. I also own 2 Craig amps and can honestly say that they are awesome. I have had the one for over two years and I still get excited every time I play live and use the amp.

The guy that builds them username is BottledTone. He is currently busy with a custom design amp for a customer, hope I get to test it before delivery takes place!
Sean we'll take my Strat as well, so we will have a single coil and a humbucker there!

We might as well get together and try the JN60 and Bluestar also made by Bottled Tone so that Sean can get to hear other amps and have a wider range of options.

Had a rehearsal with the full band using the Brit-15r.It was a brilliant experience to be able to turn it up and enjoy the sound it delivers. Someone better buy this amp before I get myself into more debt.

I heard Benji was busy with 3 amps so i had to pop round to the CraigAmps HQ to go and have a look. None of them is finished yet, one is quite close to getting finished and the other two has still got a long way to go.

The one that is almost finished is a 50w monster - Black, unfortunately I am going away for a couple of days and it will be finished and shipped before i'll be back to hear it. But the one that grabed my attention wasn't the 50w, it was an empty cab and empty chassis that was standing to the side waiting to be finished.

i took these with my cell so the quality sucks a bit, these look 10 times better in real life! the gril cloth is Marshall salt&pepper, i just love the look of this! It is going to be a single channel amp, which I love!!! I waaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnttttttttttt one!!!!!!!!!!!

The good news for the Capetonians is that this amp is going down to Cape Town to a shop! Not sure which shop or where exactly (maybe contact Benji aka BottledTone if you want to know more) so you can go and play it when it hits CT. It will probably only be there in a month or two's time, since all the major work still has to be done.

p.s. Ignore the ugly Marshall in the background!!!! ?

I am at my house today, as I work from home and my wife is busy studying for her UNISA exams, sitting with me in my office. The next I hear one of my neighbours or which I thought was one of my neighbours playing some nice blues licks on an electric. Not to loud but I could hear it with the windows closed. So I open a window to hear better and it seems like one of my neighbours is having a little jol at just louder than bed room level. I rush outside onto my balcony to get a better sense of where this is coming from, with the intensions of get this person over for a jam session some time.
To my surprise I realized this wasn’t coming from one of my neighbours….. but I immediately realized where this guitar was being played.
So I phoned up Mr Craig. He was standing outside his house, which is about a 1km from where I stay and jamming on his latest creation…. a 50W Twin channel head and cab!!!

This is it.....

I still wanted to try and pop round there today to try the beast myself but things just didn't go according to plan........maybe tomorrow if it isn't shipped by then!
