I have a ME 50 pedal, and I use a Marshall 100 watt amp. When using any effect on the pedal, it sounds great..
Only problem is that as soon as I switch on the OD/Distortion it feedbacks terribly? Now imo most of the time feedback is
caused by either volume/ treble/ bass being too much? But it doesnt matter how I set the drive/ tone/ bottom, it just carries
on. I have tried to remove all other effects but no luck.
I never used to have this problem, untill probably 2 months ago. I initially thought it's caused by my hollow body guitars,
but when I tried a friends solid bdy it just did the same.
Could the pedal have a problem, or is it just due to settings on the pedal? Any help would really be appreciated...

I'm tempted to ask what you expect from a 100W Marshall, hollowbody guitars and overdrive (in fact I did just ask ?)? But that doesn't really help, so...
First thing is it a squeal at a fixed pitch (usually when you stop playing) or is it the notes feeding back? If it's squeal, it's microphonic pickups (which are more common on hollowbodies because they pick up more of the guitar's character)
String feedback is a function of volume and gain (and overdrive adds gain and often volume too - at least a higher average volume thanks to compression). Hollowbody guitars are more resonant - players often end up filling their guitar with newspaper, foam or whatever they can to dampen the tendency to feedback. Otherwise it's just a case of taming the volume and/or gain down to usable levels.
Pickup squeal - you can either replace the pickups with models that are potted heavily or try a noise gate to cut the guitar signal when you aren't playing.
