Okay soooo I've succumbed to GAS. Again.
But I just couldn't pass on either of these two.
First find is a 1962 Hofner solidbody shortscale bass I picked up in a local pawnshop for next to nothing.
It was in terrible shape though. Someone thought it would be nice to paint it purple - with a paint heavy dripping brush ???
Luckily they didn't touch the neck, so I redid the paintjob on the body to fit with the coated neck. Put a new nut in as well.
The tuners are not the originals though, might replace them at a later stage. It plays really nicely, managed to get the action fairly low.
Has an awesome thick, round vintage sound.
Number 2 is a '62 Re-issue Jaguar. I've always wanted a Jag and they're such a mission to find in SA - so when I saw one on Gumtree I jumped.
LOVE this guitar, plays nicely and sounds awesome. And well...it looks hot. I'm a sucker for art deco/retro colours (and offset guitars) ?
