Its a hard choice to say what was the BEST purchase but I would have to say my Ibanez AS83 with my Fender Supersonic in a very close second...

after ages of trying to get a tele'ish tone from my tele partcaster or usa strat i finally went out and bought a fender usa tele this year .......and got instant tone (well the tone i was seeking) with no fiddling

another great buy was my old 60's point to point tube amp that jp modded onto a fender princeton circuit

both tele and tube amp are gigging and getting the tone i love best buys of the year for me

The Cusack Pedalboard Tamer has been a fantastic purchase.

But I think the Timeline might just usurp the PBT when it FINALLY arrives.

one should never overlook the absolute bare accessories. sorry. necessities. is that the 8v or the 16v? i had a csi, with the old 1800 8v engine, yissie. i was a big fan of that engine...it was the mk1 i think. man oh man. body was up to s#^t, but the engine was the bomb. by which i mean when it ran it was magic, but every so often it would stop and blow up.

8-Valve 2.0 Liter with that SA made injection system. It's a bit pap for a 2 litre but still a good car.
I get my Deluxe Reverb, Mixing rack, Gig box, 2 Strats, a Tele, all mic and speaker stands and odds and ends into the boot, 2 JBL Eons on the back seat and I'm good to gig.. ?

First Electric was an ESP EC1000 and I fitted Fralin PURE PAF PU's to it. I have since sold that guitar as the Strat is just SO awesome in the clean range.
Fender Strat USA with Jumbo Frets- bought from DomHatch - SWEET
VOX SC 55 in black is my FAV at the moment. It seems a bit more difficult to play than the Strat, but I think it could be due to the longer scale length or perhaps the Jumbo frets (on the Strat) ? HOwever, the range of tones with those split PU's are really great!

My BEst Piece of kit though is the Justinguitar DVD Set I bought.. ?
The Practical music book he put together is the bees knees and really made all those lessons I had as a kid clear as daylight. (I managed up to Unisa grade 4 on the piano in 1984 at school...) NOw I finally understand chord construction etc etc etc.

I love the journey of learning the guitar. NOw I need a practice partner or a real teacher !

You've got the right idea... it's all in the playing unless you're solely a collector. DVD is a good start but a teacher to kick you off is top of the list!

My first all-tube setup, and I must admit that it has taken me some time to really appreciate it, possibly because so much of my practice is done with Guitar Rig. That's changing now, as I'm finding that the amp is very responsive to fiddling, and dialing in the right tone takes time and attention to detail. And a good dose of volume. And a lot less reverb. ?

My ambition with it this year is to learn more unaccompanied stuff that I can just bang out during a jam. I can play quite happily over progressions, or the progressions themselves, but I need to add at least 10 or so songs to my "riff" repertoire and get them sounding good plugged straight into the amp.
